Wealth does not necessarily mean that everything in life is going to be easy. This is especially true when it comes to matters of the heart. Whether you are an everyday working class couple from Canton, Ohio, or a famous two-sport athlete from Dallas, Texas, divorce can be emotionally taxing, physically exhausting and financially draining.

This is evident in the divorce proceedings taking place between NFL football star Deion Sanders and his estranged wife, Pilar Sanders. The couple's domestic difficulties have received a lot of media attention lately and the problems between the sparring spouses only seem to be getting worse and worse by the day.

In the most recent news in this divide, Sander's wife was arrested for allegedly attacking the Hall of Fame cornerback in their Dallas home. According to reports, the couple continued to live together until the recent arrest. Pilar alleges that Deion called the police on her numerous times only in an attempt to make her appear unfit before authorities.

The Sanders first filed for divorce back in December 2011. The less than amicable break has been filled with all of the complications that can make any divorce acrimonious. In the Sanders' case, on top of the new domestic violence allegations, the couple must divide a substantial estate and resolve a contentious child custody dispute.

Divorce is never easy, and oftentimes the very things that seem to make life easier, like money, can make things even more complicated. Children and money can be two of the most difficult things for couples going through a divorce to reconcile and working with someone with your best interests in mind is key to protecting your interests going forward.
